Puff-Tinkerbell

Puff-Tinkerbell Rogerson McHarg.
A silly name for a silly cat.
She's very cute though.

Extremely cute kitten

Poor little Puff is not quite normal. Our vet suggested that her mother (a stray) may have had a disease that affected Puffy like rubella can affect human children. She also had a very bad case of earmits when we adopted her, which contributed (for a time, until treated) to her problems with balance.

Puff's problems include

  • She doesn't see well and seems to have problems with focal length (although she doesn't look quite as cross-eyed as she used to)
  • She has problems with balance which may be a combination of the focal length problems and inner ear problems
  • She always turns to the right. It can be quite disconcerting for her if she *has* to turn left for some reason
  • She's - well - clumsy is the kindest word for it. She falls off things, walks into furniture that has never moved, etc.

She's a happy, well-adjusted cat for the most part, she just needs a bit of extra special care. Mostly, we just think she's gorgeous.

Puff-Tinkerbell's favourite site is probably the Basic Rules for Cats Who Have a House to Run. She didn't find Dogs in Elk particularly funny (she is the only one here who didn't).

Sadly, Puff is no longer with us. She went downhill very quickly, and Fraser and Claudia were with her when she was euthanased in December 2004.
