Our Family Tree Research

Last Updated October 27 2000 (hit counter & message boards). October 24 2000 - added Barton Wesleyan Chapel Records ... previous updates

The main purpose of this page is to list my most bestest links!! I'm particularly interested in the ROGERSON and MANDERS side of the family so will probably list more & more resources for them as time goes by.

It's also a place where I collect the links I use every time I do some more research!!

Relations

Don't get too excited - these are simply outputs from my genealogy program - not particularly beautiful and with no added notes or details. But they give an overview of the lines of descent & hopefully may show someone a relationship one day!

Claudia's family tree (which obviously incorporates Fraser's and Melissa's)

Descendants of James Rogerson (James was born in Dumplington Lancashire around 1801 - he was Claudia's great great great great grandfather.)

Possibilities

I have added some Message Boards for ROGERSON and McHARG family genealogy questions & issues. This may be a bit redundant, as these are covered by the big players like ancestry.com and Rootsweb, but I find they tend to have a strong focus on the US.

ROGERSON family members in Stretford, Lancashire, England - taken from the IGI christening records but grouped into families

ROGERSONs in Stretford region parish records - St Catherine's Church in Dumplington didn't open until the 1830s so I have to investigate the neighbouring parishes of Eccles and Flixton. I am noting all ROGERSON family members. Hopefully this will be useful to someone else. Errors & Omissions notwithstanding.

ROGERSON Wills proven at Chester (a few likely ones)

Barton Wesleyan Chapel registers (includes lots of ROGERSONs; also deTrafford Estate Map Book extract)

MANDER family in Aldsworth, Gloucestershire - 1851 to 1891 censuses, sorted by person

Useful Links

The FREE BMD Project is putting all Birth/Marriage/Death registrations to 1899 on-line. I wish I had more time to help them out!

Find out about the censuses in Great Britain.

I found some "missing" family members at the LDS FamilySearch web site - a good place to start your genealogy research.
